Children & Young People Programme - Open Call for Delivery Artists

Mahogany Opera is looking to extend its team of delivery artists working across our Children and Young people programme, with a particular focus on our national Snappy Opera project.  We want to hear from dynamic and talented individuals, with experience and/or a strong interest in working with children.

We are seeking Directors, Musical Directors, Repetiteurs and Company Stage Managers that will form the delivery teams on the Snappy Opera project in 2019, as well as extend our pool of practitioners for potential future work.  Previous experience of high-quality delivery of work with children & young people is a must. We would love to hear from both those experienced in opera as well as practitioners from other disciplines who have a keen interest in working in this genre.

Mahogany Opera works with a range of communities across the UK and applications are actively encouraged from artists that reflect the diversity of our participants and audiences. We are particularly interested in hearing from practitioners in our 2019 project regions (North East, North West & East Midlands), people from all walks of life that are passionate about inspiring young people through the arts, and practitioners from under-represented groups.

Successful applicants will be invited to a dedicated Snappy Opera Day where they can learn more about the work of Mahogany Opera and the Snappy Opera project, meet and network with other delivery artists and join discussions about diversity and inclusivity in opera education.

Freelance contracts will be offered for work on the Snappy Opera 2019 project where appropriate.  Successful artists unable to engage with the project in 2019 will be added to our database for potential future work.
