Mahogany Opera is seeking new trustees
Mahogany Opera is seeking to invite four new trustees to join our board. We are at a crucial stage in our strategic development and are looking for trustees who can broaden our horizons, champion and support our work, help build on our national and international reputation, strengthen our organisation and forward plan for the next five to ten years.
We are keen to hear from people with a wide variety of professional and lived experience, with a shared understanding of our purpose and values. One reason for undertaking this expression of interest is to meet people who will bring expertise and skills beyond the following:
- skills and experience needed for arts charity governance – finance, charity and business law, fundraising, strategic planning and communications;
- reflect and embrace the communities and artists with whom we work, all across the UK and particularly in Scotland and the north of England, while expanding our international perspective;
- independent judgement, a willingness to speak their mind, strategic vision and an ability to collaborate with others.
We hope particularly to hear from individuals who may identify entirely with what we are seeking, but for whom a trusteeship would be a new and exciting experience; in which case we will provide the appropriate information, help and support. All new trustees undergo an induction process, introducing them to the company and providing the necessary training.
A trusteeship is a voluntary and unremunerated position and carries legal responsibilities. Further information may be found on the Government’s website through this LINK.
Full details of how to apply can be found in the Recruitment pack HERE. Should you require a pack in a large print, or an alternative format, please get in touch.
Please send your expression of interest by email to Ally Rosser, email@example.com by 5pm on Friday 27 November.
We also ask all applicants to complete our Equal Opportunities form - this can be done anonymously online HERE.
If you have any questions about the process or to discuss anything in general, please contact Ally Rosser, Executive Manager via email on firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Mahogany Opera office on 020 3111 1940.
We're really look forward to hearing from you!
