Watch: Snappy Operas - an introduction

Early this year, we launched Snappy Operas, Mahogany's large-scale, nationwide project to create new opera with and for young people.

Snappy Operas is a collection of tten, ten-minute long, operas being developed by ten composer/writer creative teams working closely with groups of young people across ten areas of the UK. To find out more about the project, we caught up with our artistic director Frederic Wake-Walker and associate producer Ann Barkway while we working with young people from Pembroke Academy of Music directed by Elizabeth Andrews.

Press play below to hear more about the project:

The first five Snappy Operas are being created by Emily Hall and Toby Litt, Jamie Man and Stephen Plaice, Luke Carver Goss and Ian McMillan, Luke Styles, and Errollyn Wallen. Look out for further updates and insights as the pieces come to life.
