The musician, producer, dancer, DJ and performance artist is more like a renaissance woman whose experimental presentations have dazzled audiences not only in theatres but have also captured the ears of tastemakers like Gilles Peterson.’ColoRisingNE is an experimental artist/curator working globally: eg Chalet Berlin; Bonobo Tokyo; Blok Zurich; Roundhouse UK Nonclassical. She has created her own strand of Afrofuturism combining neuroscience & ritualistic live art with interest in science fiction & collaborative processes. Recent work Distorted Constellations commissioned by Brighton Festival, supported by Wellcome Trust and Reimagine Europe reached 1702 people in Brighton. She has spoken at numerous symposiums e.g. Sensory Symposium Edinburgh, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Tanzhaus, Dusseldorf.
Her music is regularly featured on BBC3, BBC4 & music on BBC6. Current commissions include composing for Juice Vocal Ensemble & Sound Design for Midnight Movie, Royal Court.Nwando is collaborating with Stephanie Singer, director BittersuiteUK who creates intimate multi-sensory concerts. BS collaborates with experts in the field of sound & the senses including: Somatic Practitioners, Deaf-blind Community, Psychologists, Composers, Perfumers, Chefs and more. They have performed multi-sensory concerts with venue partners such as ROH, Arnolfini, Vault Festival, Arcola Theatre, FutureFest & Rich Mix.
