Created by British and Ukrainian artists and inspired by the true story of one of the actors, the performance considers the hooligan in all of us, expressed through a clash of vocal soundscapes and electronics.
Lead artists - Peter Cant and Jessica Maryon Davies
In collaboration with Sam Kyslyi, Olesia Onykiienko, Danylo Shramenko, Mirra Zhuchkova
Sam was a teenage football hooligan. He fought in organised brawls in forest clearings outside his city in eastern Ukraine. He learnt that success is not measured by how well you fight, but by being able to rise up after being knocked down.
A collaboration with Ukrainian artists, inspired by one actor’s history of struggle with violence and vulnerability, the performance considers the hooligan in all of us at a time of escalating fear and tribalism. The actors will collaborate with a community chorus from London to create a clash of vocal soundscapes and electronics, football chants and 80’s pop.
